Do the mosaics pop out or fall out of Upflor?
Absolutely not! When you press the small mosaic tile into Upflor, the mosaic is completely locked into place via two small tabs. Driving over them or sliding something across them will not pull the mosaics out. That said, when you actually want to remove the mosaics, it’s quite easy. You simply squeeze the two tabs on the back of the mosaic together with a pair of pliers, and they’ll pop right out.
Is Versodeck only for my garage, or can I install it elsewhere?
Versodeck earned its name for a reason! Other potential uses for Versodeck include:
- Track pit area- Tired of doing brake pad changes on thousand-degree asphalt? Take your Versodeck with you to the track so you can have a comfortable place to work on your car that is clean, slip-free, jack-capable, and looks amazing.
- Home gym- Drop your bumper plates while dead lifting and don’t sweat it. Create a motivational space with underfloor LEDs that flash to your favorite workout playlist and get you pumped for one more rep.
- Auto detail shop- Your foam cannon won’t make the floor slippery, and the water will drain right through the open Upflor tiles. Add your business logo to reinforce your brand every time you photograph a customer car.
- Retail space- It’s so easy to swap out tiles and change the mosaic, that you’re no longer locked into one look or one brand. Change with the seasons, your mood, or with fashion.
- Personalized kids play area- Create a mosaic with your child’s name in bright colors, or maybe a unicorn, with rainbow flashing lights. No more gouges in the hardwood floors, and no more chocolate stains!
- Trade show booth- Easy on the feet after days of standing, and a huge space for additional branding. Best of all, it’s super quick and simple to load into crates, install, and pack up on the day of teardown.
- Aircraft hangar- You likely love your plane at least as much as your cars. Create the perfect space to store your Cessna or Gulfstream.
- Basement dance floor- Your hanging disco ball isn’t bringing enough excitement to the party? Amp up the party with vivid colors, lights that pulse alongside the music, and your feet will thank you after dancing the night away on a fatigue-free surface. Karaoke night will never, ever be the same.
- Pool deck or locker room- Non-slip even when wet, allows for drainage and air circulation, more gentle and comfortable on feet than concrete.
Can I lay it on grass or soft surfaces?
No, Versodeck must be laid on a solid, level surface such as concrete, patio slabs, decking, or similar. We do not recommend that the product is laid on soft or uneven surfaces such as grass, soil, or gravel.
In what standard colors is Versodeck available?
Versodeck has a beautiful array of standard colors that enable a huge variety of design. Car enthusiasts can choose from a wide range of colors, patterns, allowing you to create a customized look that aligns with your favorite brand identity.
Can I get Versodeck in other colors?
Yes! You can have tiles made in the custom colors of your choice, providing even more latitude for creativity.
How do you clean Versodeck?
Versodeck is just as easy to keep clean as it is to install. To keep daily dirt and dust accumulation at bay, simply sweep with a conventional broom. A vacuum is also a great way to remove any buildup of dust especially a vacuum with a brush head. When things get a bit messier, you can clean Versodeck with a mop, sponge, brush, a hose, or even a pressure washer.
Can you vacuum through the Upflor tiles to clean up dirt and spills?
Yes! A vacuum will suck up the dust and keep the spaces in between the tiles clean.
What is Versodeck made from?
Versodeck is made from a specially developed polyolefin. It is chemically resistant to most substances.
How hard is it to install Versodeck?
Versodeck is incredibly easy to assemble. Simply align one tile over another with a connector, and gently push down to snap them securely together. No glue, tools, tape, or machinery is required. Clicks together in minutes!

How durable is Versodeck?
Versodeck can support a load of roughly 30,000 lbs. evenly distributed across the surface area of one tile! During the design and development stage of the system, the latest technology and software were employed to help Versodeck surpass all existing flooring metrics for strength and durability.
FEA (Finite Element Analysis) was leveraged to develop the support structure on the underside of the tile. Each supporting leg spreads the load over the greatest surface area, evenly dispersing the load. Each tile can support the same “point load” no matter where that load is applied over the area of the tile. Competing products have uneven support structures, which means they have uneven load carrying characteristics which can fail at specific points.
Is Versodeck slippery?
Not at all! No flooring has more grip, and safety was a core driver during the development of both the tiles and mosaics. They are the safest on the market. The Upflor and Taskflor tiles, as well as the small mosaics, have been rigorously slip tested to BS 7976-2 and certified against the current UKSRG Guidelines (Click here for certification details). They have also been tested to BS 7976 (The British Standard specification that provides guidelines for the assessment of slip resistance of flooring surfaces). With an average in dry conditions of 108 PVT, and an average of 60 PVT in wet conditions, Versodeck achieves a Slip Risk Classification of ‘Low’.
Why is Versodeck better than other types of flooring such as epoxy, polyaspartic, acrylic, rubber stall mats, porcelain tile, stamped concrete, or polished concrete?
It’s slip resistant, flame retardant, fully customizable, mobile, repairable, upgrade-able, more durable, more color options, easier to install, chemical and stain resistant, has cable routing, can have lighting added, is anti-fatigue, and carries a limited lifetime warranty!
What is the standard lead time for new orders?
Standard lead time on new orders is 2-5 weeks.
Can someone help me with a custom design?
Versodeck offers full design services completely free! Just give Essex a call to start the process, and we can help you create the ideal floor for your space. We can even insert your mosaics into the tiles before shipping, to make the installation even quicker and easier. Tell us about your dream floor and we’ll help you create it!
Can I use Versodeck in places other than my garage?
Yes! Versodeck can be used both indoors and outdoors. Examples of indoor spaces include garages, utility rooms, workshops, games rooms, sheds, factories, showrooms, warehouses, hangars, or detail shops. Outdoor spaces include patios, decks, swimming pool and hot tub areas, or any space with a solid, level surface beneath.
Do the tiles contract or expand with the weather?
The tiles are designed with a tiny gap between them to allow for expansion and contraction during hot and cold conditions. This prevents the floor surface from becoming uneven.
How thick are the tiles and do they significantly raise the floor?
The tiles are approximately one-half inch thick. The full tile dimensions are: L 11.81” x W 11.81” x H 0.55”. Edge Strips and Corners are available to create a gentle ramp onto the tiles.
Will the tiles warp in the sunshine (or for any other reason)?
No. The tiles were designed with gaps between them to allow for expansion under high temperatures, and they are UV protected. If you want to secure the tiles even further, they have provisions for anchoring them to your floor with screws.
Are the tiles all the same size?
Yes. Taskflor and Upflor tiles are all the same size.
Does Versodeck have any type of warranty? Is that warranty better than competitors?
Versodeck carries a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects, so you can rest assured that your new floor surface is built to last.
What is the life expectancy of an install?
With normal daily use, you can expect Versodeck to make your space attractive, functional, and comfortable for many years.
Are there any car-related fluids that are known to damage the tiles?
Versodeck is made from a specially developed polyolefin. It is chemically resistant to most substances you’ll find around your home, and we wouldn’t anticipate any damage stemming from car-related fluids.
Will the tiles stain if fluid is left on them for any length of time?
While we obviously suggest always keeping your floor as clean and dry as possible for safety reasons, we understand that some cars leak engine oil, fuel, transmission oil, coolant, etc. Versodeck is chemically resistant to most substances, and you shouldn’t expect any lasting stains, discoloring, or damage. Liquid spills should be cleaned with a brush and water, a hose, or a pressure washer.
Can center tiles be taken out, or do you have to work your way in all the way from the edge (if something in the middle was damaged for example)?
Any tile anywhere on the floor can be easily removed in seconds, and you don’t need to work your way in from the edges. Simply pop a screwdriver into the corner of a tile and lift it. This is great for quickly capturing spills before they spread, or just periodic cleaning in heavy traffic areas.
Here is a video outlining how to replace a section:
Will the tiles dent, crack, or bend if I drop something heavy on them?
Versodeck has done extensive drop-testing with a wide range of tools and auto parts, and neither the parts nor the floor sustained any damage under typical use. In the case of extreme load or impact, the posts on the underside of the tiles are designed to deform to absorb the impact, rather than the object landing on them absorbing the impact. The theory is that it’s easier and less expensive to replace a floor tile vs. an expensive engine block! Each tile can withstand over 30,000 lbs. of compressive load over its surface area.
Is the floor warm underfoot in the winter?
Owners report that the tiles are significantly more comfortable to be on vs. concrete or similar products in extremely hot or cold conditions.
Does Versodeck flex or move noticeably when you walk on it?
As long as the subfloor surface is level, not at all. There are many contact points between the bottom of the tile and the subfloor. If the subfloor has uneven spots preventing direct contact with the bottom of the tile, the tile can be screwed to the floor to help maintain full contact and prevent flex.
Is there a way to add heat to the floor?
Not currently.
Is it easy for objects to fall through the Upflor tiles, like screws, bolts, etc.?
The open area on each Upflor tile is only 4% of the total surface area, with each hole only measuring approximately 4mm in diameter. As such, only tiny objects can fall through the holes in the tile. The scooped recesses in the tile are also designed to deflect objects away from the holes, rather than allowing them to drop through to the underside of the tile.
Can the tiles warp over time with moisture on them?
No! All parts of the Versodeck system are waterproof and the Upflor tiles allow water to drain through the mosaic holes in the tile.
Are there any specific geographic locations that would make a Versodeck install more problematic due to weather?
Not really. The tiles are incredibly resistant to hot and cold, slip-resistant, have gaps between them to allow for expansion and contraction, are chemically resistant to things like road salt, and the edges of the tiles can be screwed into the subfloor to prevent movement.
How do the mosaics fit into Upflor?
The mosaics pop in by pressing them gently into the top of Upflor. Two small tabs anchor the mosaics in place and prevent them from moving. They won't come out unless you want to remove them.
How long do the intricate mosaic logos take to install?
It depends. The mosaics physically snap into place by hand and without any tools, so the process is fairly quick and easy. The floor tiles also snap together with a press of the hand or foot. If you don’t want the satisfaction of installing a beautiful mosaic yourself, Versodeck offers a service to preinstall the mosaic tiles before shipping.
Can Versodeck hold up to road salt dropping off cars?
Yes. The hardness of the polymer is R Scale (Rockwell) 95 and it is chemical resistant.
Can it be damaged by stones or gravel dragged in from outside?
Highly unlikely. Versodeck is extremely durable and is used in harsh professional motorsport environments such as British Touring Car, British Super Bikes, World Super bikes, Formula 1, and Formula 2. The floors are laid down, picked up, stored, and laid again every race weekend. In the case of F1 and World Super Bikes, Versodeck systems are transported around the globe and operate in all the extreme environments the world can offer. During a race weekend they see a lot of foot and vehicle traffic, mechanics work on the floors, and cars are jacked up directly on them. As of 2025 and three professional race seasons of use, there have not been any reported breakages or chipping issues.
Does Versodeck hold up to floor jacks and jack stands without denting and damage?
Yes, you can use a trolly jack and jack stands on Versodeck. Jack stands with a large foot area are recommended, but you shouldn’t expect any damage from using an automotive jack and stands as you would on your driveway or concrete garage floor, for example.
Does the floor you’re installing on have to be perfectly flat or is a slight slope acceptable (if it has a drain in the center for example)?
Because of the ability to fix the tiles to the floor at any location, floors can be slightly uneven and still be fitted properly to prevent bowing, flexing, slipping, or any other undesired movement. Screw holes are beneath the floor surface and cannot be seen.
Do the connectors ever let go and do the pieces separate at the edge if you drive over them while turning?
No, they do not. If you want to have the most secure edge to your installation, we recommend screwing the tiles into your subfloor.
Can you cut Versodeck to a required size during installation?
Yes. You can use a multitude of tools to cut Versodeck tiles, such as a jigsaw, hack saw, hand saw, circular saw, crosscut saw, or miter saw.
Does Versodeck feel good to stand on?
Yes! Prolonged standing on hard surfaces can lead to musculoskeletal problems and circulation issues. Anti-fatigue flooring helps promote better blood circulation, reduces the risk of muscle fatigue, and minimizes the strain on joints and ligaments.
Can I use Versodeck in my home gym?
Yes, Versodeck is a fantastic solution for a home gym! It’s strength and resilience can withstand having bumper plates, dumbbells, or kettlebells dropped on it, its anti-slip properties are perfect for sweaty but safe 20-rep squat sessions, and its anti-fatigue characteristics provide a comfortable and stable base under a yoga mat.
