Unparalleled Design Opportunity
A Colorful Foundation
Both Taskflor and Upflor are available in approximately 20 colors each, and they can be mixed and matched to form the foundation of your floor design. The standard color palette offers ample options, ranging from classic neutrals to wild fluorescents. You can think of these as the foundational undertone for your creative canvas. If for some reason there's a non-standard color you really want but don't see below, no sweat...Versodeck can create custom colors just for you!
If you want to keep it simple, you can use Taskflor (left) in areas where you don't want light, liquid, or anything else to pass through the floor.
Conversely, Upflor (right) is the choice for areas of your floor where you want to create custom mosaic artwork, allow liquid to pass through, or install some killer underfloor lighting!
Please also note that Upflor can essentially be turned into Taskflor by simply filling in all the holes with the mosaics of your choice.
Envision it, Create it!
Once you've chosen your foundation and basic color scheme, then it's time to get creative with 15 different Upflor mosaic tile colors. Mosaics are small, button-like tiles that click into the 4mm holes in Upflor.
The mosaics have the same great non-slip, textured surface and durability as Taskflor. And once you clip them in, don't worry about them accidentally popping out. They're locked in securely with two tabs, and can only
be released with pliers from the underside of the tile.
What’s really killer about these mosaics is that they’re so small. That means the image you can create has much higher resolution vs. what you've see on other floors. In the past when using competing tile products, your designs were limited to the boring old standbys of alternating tiles in different colors to create a checkerboard effect, or other simple geometric patterns. Versodeck dramatically increases your ability to get creative, and the visual difference between what you can do with this tile vs. legacy tile systems is on a whole different level.
And if you don’t have a creative bone in your body but still want an awesome floor design, you don’t have to worry! Versodeck has staff members on hand who can help bring the image you have in your head or on paper to life on your floor. Our team here at Essex will collaborate with them and present you with some possibilities. In short, we’re confident we can make your dream garage floor happen!
Light 'em Up!
Here's where things get really unique with Versodeck. Upflor was designed from day one to help you incorporate underfloor RGB LED lighting into your designs. The holes in the top of the Upflor tiles are perfect for letting water drain through, but in a dry environment they’re also perfect for allowing light to shine upwards! Versodeck designed these tiles so you could simply clip an LED light strip into the channels under the tiles. You can also run any other type of wiring you need to run under the floor, up to 8mm in diameter. While you can use any LED light tape of your choice with these tiles, Versodeck developed a great one specifically as a companion to their tiles. The spacing on the Versodeck LEDS perfectly matches the spacing of the holes on the top of the tiles, so every bit of light shines through.
So, what can you do with the underfloor lights? Anything you want! One of the popular ways to set up the light kit is to create a landing strip effect, which will help you or your wife park your car in the right spot and out of harm’s way every time. Other people use the LED strips as a nightlight. It’s totally up to you. The Versodeck RGB LED kit even allows you change the color of the lights to fit the space or the mood. You can change segments of the light strand to different colors, make them flash, light them in a sequence, or even flash real-time with music! The Versodeck LED kit even comes with a companion app that allows you to control everything from your smartphone.
Not Just A Pretty Face
Durable, Functional, Chemical & UV Resistant
Okay, so we now know it looks really cool and you can go nuts creating some really badass designs with it. One important question still remains however, how functional is it? The great news is that Versodeck is every bit as functional as it is attractive, which is what really drew our team of hardcore enthusiasts to this product. At the root of Versodeck's patented design is a specially developed polymer that is chemically resistant to most substances, which means it can take a severe beating in a garage environment. You can spill engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, or fuel on it, and it won’t stain or discolor (here's looking at you, air-cooled Porsche owners). When it does get some dirt on it, vacuum it, clean it with soap, water, and a spray mop, or you can even pressure wash it. It’s UV resistant, so the edge of the floor near your garage door won’t fade, it won’t lift or warp in direct sunlight, nor will it become brittle in the cold. Versodeck is even fire resistant, making it perfect for hot under-car work around volatile liquids. Your tires can drag gravel from your driveway across it and it won’t get shredded. Winter road salt can drip all over it as your car thaws in your garage, and the tiles won’t disintegrate .
Load-bearing
Obviously, you’re now wondering if it can handle the load of a floor jack and jack stands…of course it can! How is this possible? The patented support posts on the bottom of these tiles were developed using Finite Element Analysis, with the goal of producing the greatest load capacity possible. They evenly distribute the load throughout the entire tile, enabling it to support up to 30,000 lbs. across its surface area, which is about what three elephants weigh! Here at Essex, we’ve had our heavy tool chests, work stations, and brake disc assembly tables all sitting on Versodeck, and the tiles aren’t showing any signs of stress or deformation.
So, under normal use, the tiles won’t deform. However, in the extreme case of
huge impacts striking the floor, the posts on the bottom of
Versodeck are designed to intentionally deform slightly to protect
whatever struck the floor. That means your expensive engine block won’t
deform when hitting the floor, but the one easily replaceable floor
tile will.
Firm, Healthy Footing Under All Conditions
Versodeck is engineered to provide slip resistance, helping to prevent accidents and ensure firm footing in all climates. Taskflor, Upflor, and the small mosaics, all have a grabby texture on their surface, making them perfect for indoor our outdoor use. Upflor also allows liquids to drain through the small holes in the top, allowing the surface to dry quickly.
Versodeck is also designed to be anti-fatigue, offering an imperceptible amount of give that coddles your feet when standing for long hours. That makes Versodeck perfect for long wrenching sessions under a lift, in front of a product assembly area, or as a base for your squat workouts. Owners also report that the tiles are significantly more comfortable on the feet vs. concrete or similar products in extremely hot or cold conditions. In short, your dogs will thank you!
Put 'em Down and Pick 'em Up!
That brings up one of the absolute best Versodeck features, which is the ease of installing, replacing, and transporting the tiles. We’ve laid some other brands of floor tiles down in our day, and we know it can be a real hassle. Some tiles have fiddly little connecting points, they need to be laid down at certain angles, and you need to pound them with a hammer to get them to lock together. In many cases you can only work in one specific direction when laying the tile down, and once the tiles are laid you need to rip the whole floor out to get back to a tile in the middle. The install process with Versodeck is a completely different story. The connectors are incredibly easy to line up, and you don’t need to engage them at a precise angle. You simply lay the tiles next to each other and push on them with your hand, or just step on them…super easy!
Lifting Versodeck is fortunately just as easy as laying it down. You can remove any tile from the floor at any time, and you don't have to work your way in from the floor's edge (e.g. A tile in the center does get damaged somehow). Simply insert a flathead (slotted) screwdriver next to the Versodeck logo on any tile, gently lift, and voila, that tile is free! Also, if you ever wanted to change colors or try a different mosaic (e.g. you sold your GT3 for a Miata), you don't need to rip the entire floor out to make changes.
Anchors Away
One of the problems we've found with other flooring products is that they can't be properly anchored to the ground. Not so with Versodeck. You can screw the connectors directly to the sub-floor, and then cover them over with an edge piece for a finished look. That means no more front edge lifting at the threshold of your garage, and it the tiles won't separate when you turn your car's wheels on them when entering the garage.
Take Your Custom Parking Spot with you to the Track!
Pulling the tiles up is just as easy as laying them down, which really changes the game with regards to how this product can be used. With traditional home flooring products, once they’re installed, they essentially become a permanent installation. That’s not the case with Versodeck, and you can take your custom parking spot with you to the track. Lifting and transporting your custom parking space is super simple. Versodeck has pins that you can use to hold several tiles together when you lift them. We like to do it in manageable chunks that we can carry and store in our van or race trailer. You just pin, lift, and stack for transport. When you get the track, it’s just as easy to reassemble your parking spot in your pit area. If you don’t want to park your car on it, you can put your EZ UP and chairs on, creating a much more comfortable lounging space vs. asphalt or dirt.
Lifetime Limited Warranty
Last but certainly not least, Versodeck comes with a limited lifetime warranty. You can buy with peace of mind knowing that your investment is protected.
