Prior to the development of R4, AP Racing R3 was the fluid of
choice in many professional racing series around the world. Conforms to
and exceeds FMVSS 116 DOT 4 and SAE J1703 / J1704. R3 fluid has advanced moisture resistance properties, low levels of viscosity (for ease of bleeding), low levels of compressibility and meets DOT4 specifications. R3 can be mixed with other DOT4 racing brake fluids, but for maximum product performance the brake system should be thoroughly purged with R3 fluid.
Note: With the introduction of an inhibitor, R3 can now be used with magnesium components.

Following the successful launch of Radi-CAL™ R4 racing fluid in 2014, AP Racing chose to change the packaging and names of all of its fluid options to create uniformity across the line. No alterations were been made to the actual fluids themselves.
