Porsche customer sets a new personal best on the Ferodo DS1.11

One of our 987.2 Porsche Cayman customers recently sent us his thoughts after experiencing Ferodo's DS1.11 compound. After trying several competing pads, he found success with this outstanding compound, setting a personal best at Sebring. He believes the improved feel of the Ferodo DS1.11 provided him with the confidence to drive his car harder and more consistently. His comments below:

“I am tracking a "new" 2009 base Cayman that I bought this spring to replace my aging (but well loved) track Boxster. I have been running GLOC R10 front R8 pads on the Boxster and ran a set on my Cayman. I wanted to go to the next level and got some Ferodo DS1.11. I had new pads all around, new front rotors, but had to reuse my rear rotors (previously used with GLOC R8).

From the first mile of driving, these pads felt so much more "grippy", more bite, and my brake pedal felt much firmer and better. I did a bedding run (up to 60, down to about 10) 5 or 6 times, and then drove them down the Sebring (4 hours highway and street driving, the pads were squealy but not too bad). There was some light squealing on stops but not too bad.

At the track: they were AWESOME! The braking was much more powerful and confidence inspiring (tires Hankook R-S4) and I set a new PB that was 2 seconds faster. I credit the brakes for helping me feel more confident in the car (only 2nd time at Sebring in this car)”
