Essex Parts Services, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike O'Neil as Technical Director. O'Neil brings with him 15 years of professional experience in the design and technical support of brake, clutch, starter, and other systems at all levels of motor racing. Types of racing with which he has experience include NASCAR, Indycar, professional sportscar, off-road, and others. His professional work builds upon his Masters Thesis work at the University of Akron where he delved into the science of friction surface interactions.

"We are pleased to have Mike as a member of our team. This move will further solidify our ability to provide the best products and properly support the racing and High Performance Road Car industry," said Essex President Ken Gordon.

"As the Exclusive Importer for AP Racing brake systems, Essex has developed into one of the primary suppliers of racing brake systems in North America" said Gordon. "We have had a growing need for an addition to our team that would bring us the highest level of engineering and design expertise to better serve our customers. Mike O'Neil is one of the few people in the industry who can fill that role, and we are extremely pleased with his decision to join the Essex team"

"Mike has relocated from California and will be based out of our headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina," continued Gordon. "Judging by the numerous comments we have received from all of our friends, partners, and customers in the industry congratulating us on having Mike on board, this will be a very positive move for Essex."

Essex develops innovative aftermarket e-Commerce site

Essex Parts Services Inc. has developed an innovative new website to better serve its customers in the racing and high performance street communities. While Essex has served the professional racing community in the US for over 26 years, the growing street tuning segment will receive greater attention.

"Driving street cars on the racetrack isn't a new phenomenon, but the popularity of the sport and the capability of the cars are changing," commented Ken Gordon, President of Essex. "Technology advancements in engine, tire, brake, and suspension components are now producing affordable street cars that are as fast, or faster, than racecars of the not-too-distant past. We've been pushing racecars towards achieving their full potential for over 25 years, and it's logical that we now bring that knowledge to the track day crowd."

The Essex site features a robust e-Commerce solution, an advanced dealer tool set, and educational content designed to assist customers with the proper selection of parts matching their unique needs.

Essex's High Performance Division Manager, Jeff Ritter, commented, "Over the years I've watched so many of my customers struggle with the dizzying array of product choices out there. We really wanted to improve the quality of product information in the aftermarket, and remove the uncertainty about not only which parts to choose, but how to apply them for the greatest results. Our solution is based on proven e-Commerce tools gathered from a broad spectrum of consumer-based industries, but contains a lot of unique facets that haven't yet been used in the automotive aftermarket. Most importantly, we made sure to keep our core customers squarely in mind at every step of the design process, so I think we're going to see a great response to the project."
